International Toplac Plus Marine Gloss Paint - 2.5L

Toplac Plus is a premium, high durability gloss enamel that stays glossy for longer being the replacement for the well known International Toplac topside paint.

This silicone alkyd premium gloss topcoat loved by all boaters around the world, Toplac Plus is easy to apply by brush or roller without the need of tipping on surfaces such as GRP, Wood, Aluminium and Steel.

International Toplac Plus also features excellent flow characteristics due to its unique chemical structure. A true topcoat prefered by most do-it-yourself boaters and professionals in the boating industry.

Why is Toplac changing to Toplac Plus?

In order to comply with the regulations, Toplac paint's formula had to be altered so that is no longer using some of the chemicals banned for use by DIY customers. The new improved formula does comply with these regulations and can still be used by Do-it-yourself boaters and professionals.

How to apply Toplac Pus Gloss Enamel?

Apply by using a brush or roller if you are not a professional. Spraying is recommended for professional use only.

For bare surfaces is recommended to apply between 2 to 3 coats. If you are only touching up or reviving the surface one coat should do the job.

It’s recommended to be applied early during the day in dry conditions and avoid doing it in the late evening as the condensation can cause a loss of gloss.

How long should I wait between coats?

When the temperature is around 5°C - Minimum of 24 hours with a maximum of 4 Days
15°C - Minimum of 16 hours with a maximum of 3 Days
23°C - Minimum of 8 hours with a maximum of 2 Days
35°C - Minimum of 6 hours with a maximum of 1 Day

Brush and roller coverage: Approximately 12 sq metres per litre
Spray: Approximately 8 sq metres per litre

Combine with the new one-pack primer and undercoat, One Up, for a premium finish and simple scheme
Can be used on all suitably primed substrates above the waterline

Above Waterline Scheme For Toplac Plus and One UP System (Primer & Undercoat)
Bare Wood - Sand smooth using 80-180 and then 280 grade paper and remove all dust with a cloth. Allow drying before priming with One Up.

Complete system: 4 x coats of One UP + 2 - 3 coats of Toplac Plus

Steel - Degrease the steel surface with a solvent or cleaner. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry before priming.

Complete system: 3 x coats of One UP + 2 - 3 coats of Toplac Plus

Aluminium - Degrease the surface with a solvent or super cleaner. Use a sander (60 - 120) aluminium grade paper and then clean thoroughly. Allow to completely dry and apply the One Up system within 8 hours.

Complete system: 3 x coats of One UP + 2 - 3 coats of Toplac Plus

GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) - Similar to the aluminium or steel surfaces, degrease using a powerful solvent or super cleaner. Sand well using 180 - 220 grade sanding paper and then clean thoroughly.
