Part of the radial line aluminium winches range, the Harken 20STA winch is a self tailing one speed winch, manufactured from a marine grade aluminium, and specially designed for smaller boats returning maximum performance under any weather conditions. A great choice for sailors who are looking for a lightweight solution on board with plenty of power in return.

The drum’s gripping surface is shaped accordingly to each winch size and drum and greatly reduces line wear while under load. The aluminium drum features diagonal ribs rather than other textured abrasive materials, which can be found on other yacht winches, maximizing the gripping power of this Harken 20 STA winch.  The self tailing mechanism makes it easy to trim or raise sails even for a single crew member.

When easing, the angle of the ribs stops line from rising, preventing overrides and gives a smooth, controlled release as the line exits the winch. This Harken aluminium winches are both high-strength and lightweight saving between 25 to 50 percent on weight compared to Harken classic winch lines due to the composite self-tailing jaws and skirt.

Composite roller bearings of this Harken 20 winches reduces friction under load and don’t require lubrication. The load-carrying gears and pins are 17-4 PH made of stainless steel for added strength and corrosion resistance.
